Altered State recently introduced a full-service kitchen, enhancing its status as an award-winning distillery by adding lunch, dinner, and a buzz-worthy Sunday brunch. With a casual, industrial-chic vibe, Sunday’s scratch-made brunch boasts Mexican-inspired dishes like the fundido skillet with house-made chorizo, perfectly paired with a spicy Bloody Mary, and the Southern benedict with house-made sausage.

Calamari's Squid Row

Calamari’s Squid Row brunch is a Sunday tradition for many before heading off to catch a Downtown Erie performance, game, or exhibit. The Cork 1794

The Cork seamlessly blends their unique and contemporary style with traditional favorites. The menu is updated seasonally to incorporate chef-inspired dishes using local ingredients, but the outstanding flavor is unchanged. For starters, try the Mushroom Toast or their staple Fire Cracker Shrimp, before moving on to their Huevos Rancheros or Freeport BLT, made from locally sourced pork. 

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

At Firebirds, you'll find a brunch menu loaded with delicious brunch options on the weekend, and a cozy environment that lends itself to casual conversation on one side, and TV energy on the other. Try the hearty Steak & Egg Bowl or a lighter Grilled Salmon Benedict. Pair it with their Espresso Martini, and have yourself a weekend.

Luminary Distilling, Eatery, Fuhrman's Cider

In addition to small-batch artisan distilling products, Fuhrman’s cider, and fresh baked goods, Luminary Distilling's Sunday brunch features comforting menu selections and signature cocktails. The Breakfast Pizza is a crowd-pleaser made with house-made dough and covered edge to edge with garlic chive aioli spread, chorizo, bacon, a three-cheese blend, red peppers, onions, egg, arugula, and hollandaise. Rise-N-Shine Flights let you sample expertly crafted Bloody Marys, margaritas, mimosas, or a Luminary flight with five half-ounce pours of house made spirits of any spirit. A special brunch menu is available for kids 11 and under.

The Skunk and Goat Tavern

The Skunk and Goat Tavern in the picturesque town of North East offers a fun, flavorful twist on a classic brunch experience with inspired dishes and creative cocktails. In addition to traditional brunch favorites, the Oasis Pub & Tiki Bar is upping their status for Sunday Brunch with a lighter summer menu that'll still fill you up. Try their Avocado Toast or Fried Bologna Sandwich, paired with a mimosa flight - either the seasonal or traditional version.

One of Erie's newest brunch spots, and hottest table in town, is Bay & Berry Cafe. Located at the entrance to Presque Isle State Park, Bay & Berry specializes in flights that you wouldn't expect: think latte flights, French toast flights, and even a butter flight. If you know what you like, the menu features all the traditional entrees you want for breakfast or lunch, like the Sweet Cream Pancakes, omelettes made your way, or Flounder Tacos. 

West Side Market on Powell

By partnering with local farmers, growers, and food artisans to offer a wide range of locally sourced products, West Side Market on Powell offers one of the freshest brunch menus around. Known for their smoothies, and full menu of Mediterranean and American deli dishes, the menu is always changing, and can be adapted to suit dietary restrictions or palates. For summer, check out the Marscapone Toast, or the PB&J Smoothie Bowl. 

The Juice Jar

Located in The Colony Plaza near the entrance to Presque Isle State Park, The Juice Jar is the perfect place to find a healthy breakfast or lunch before heading to the beach. Their fresh, made to order smoothies, smoothie bowls, and breakfast sandwiches center on whole, real ingredients, fruits and vegetables, with a swath of gluten free and vegan options.
