This summer, we open The Story of Us.” It shows how how our ancestors were pioneering immigrants who created neighborhoods, churches, and ethnic clubs. It includes how residents made a living in our community. Last year, we opened Frank Lloyd Wright’s original San Francisco office, a Crosley Hot Shot and his Butterfly Wing Bridge model that appeared in the movie “Die Hard.”Enjoy the architecture of the Watson-Curtze Mansion, built in 1891, and explore the Griswold cast iron display in the kitchen. On the second and third floors, peek inside Winfred Watson’s childhood bedroom, an array of Victorian dresses, Servants Quarters, a Charlotte Battles’ office exhibit and an Indigenous people’s artifact display. In the Wood-Morrison House, learn about the Erie Extension Canal that flowed right outside the house. Be prepared for emotional stories of Erie County men and women who fought for our country. You’ll also see the pot used to boil Mad Anthony Wayne’s bones … and much more.Museum Hours - Tuesday – Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Archives Hours by appointment only.
