Erie Cemetery holds the stories of over 50,000 past residents of our city. Walking in the shade of the cemetery's trees you'll find the early settlers of Erie, hardworking farmers, and dashing lake captains like Daniel Dobbins. There are ball players like Lou Bierbauer and Sam Jethroe, and great musical talents, like Harry Thacker Burleigh.
The cemetery also guards the resting place of veterans from every American conflict including General Strong Vincent. We welcome you to visit us and walk through Erie's history, and see who you meet. The Cemetery grounds are open during daylight hours. Walking tour maps are available on the porch. Also visit the rolling hills of Laurel Hill Cemetery or Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
