This year, Tethered’s immersive theatrical experience will take place in the 136-year-old, 30,000+ square-foot former Erie Maennerchor building and be based around the theme of memory and consciousness.
Story
In the near future, past and present reunite through an experimental new technology that enables a woman with Alzheimer’s and her son to experience her memories. Audiences will embark on a journey that questions the very fabric of our existence, the fragile nature of memory, and what it means to be truly conscious.
What is Immersive Theater?
Immersive theatre surrounds the audience, blurring the lines between performer and spectator. Instead of passively observing performances on a stage, audiences have opportunities to interact with performers, environments, and become fully immersed in the story's world. Tethered is a combination of dance, theater, music, film, and visual arts to create an emotional and unforgettable journey that audiences experience at their own pace.

Parking and Entry
We recommend parking in the free, private lot located behind the Erie Maennerchor building. All guests must enter from the rear, parking lot entrance. There will be no admissions from the front entrance facing State Street.
Time and Show Basics
Admission begins at 5:30 PM ("General" and "General + Talkback"). The performance runs from 6:00–9:00 PM. You may arrive and depart at any time in that range; however, for the best experience, we recommending arriving as early as you can. Upon admission, you will be escorted to your starting space. You may then explore the building at your own pace. Talking or cell phone use will not be permitted during the performance, and you may only interact or speak to a performer if that performer initiates the interaction.
